OUR ROOTS

A family story.
A shared landscape.

Before it was a place to stay, Uxarbeiti was a place to care for.

The farm is our home.

Uxarbeiti Baserria is the family farm of Urtza Sarrionandia and her parents, Edurtzeta Atutxa and Iñaki Sarrionandia. They founded it in the 1980s; Urtza continued their work, expanding it in 2008 and again on a larger scale in 2013.

Today it brings together two farmhouses: Uxarbeiti and Iauribarrigoikoan Behekoa. Between the natural parks of Urkiola and Gorbeia, in the heart of the Basque Country, farming and rural hospitality live side by side.

Domo Gorbeia and Urkiola Etxea are our two ways of welcoming you. Two different stays within the same complex, with the Arratia landscape in common.

2008

A larger expansion marks another chapter in the farm’s story.

A story recognised at fairs across Bizkaia and Gipuzkoa, including Deba, Elgoibar and BBK.
